Hi all,
I'm stuck behind an http proxy (I think that's the term) at a UK university (I pay commercial prices for the internet access, but the t***s still cripple it) meaning I can only get the web; no torrents, no messengers, no IRC, no p2p, but worst of all, I can't update Steam, rendering my beloved Half-Life games unplayable, and denying me the opportunity to buy Episode one.
BUT
For everything like this there tends to be a work-around. I've found out a sneaky way to get File Sharing sorta working, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to update Steam through an http proxy.
Also, if anyone has suggestions for P2P programs I could use as a work around which are better than Filetopia, I would be very grateful.
