I've installed G.F on my XP and also downloaded the patch that Kurufinwe linked to in another thread. (Thanks!)
I've only played a couple of minutes but already there's a problem. The sound disappears every now and then. When I run the game in compability mode 95or 98 there's an echo in both music and speach.
Anyone heard of problems like this and can offer some help? Please!

Try lowering or raising the hardware emulation for sound:
1. Click Start and choose "Run...".
2. Enter "dxdiag" and click "OK".
3. On the "Sound" tab (or "Sound 1" if you have multiple tabs) you should see a slider.

Thanks for your help.
I've tried your advice but none of the possile slider positions changes anything.
After about 2 minutes of gameplay the sound sort of hangs. If I save and quit and then load again I can play another 2 minutes before it happens again.

Could this be a hyperthreading problem?
Check here (http://forums.adventuregamers.com/showthread.php?t=4834&highlight=grim+fandango+hyperthreading) and see if it helps. :)

Could this be a hyperthreading problem?
Yes, after a bit of searching I found out how to disable it and it seems to be working fine.
Thanks Mel!:)
