I noticed this a few days ago. Pity the demo got withdrawn, I was looking forward to playing it. Zak McKracken was one of my favourite adventures ever, and another sequel would be great, official or not. For those Zak fans among us, there's another Zak 2 game that's already been released: http://www25.brinkster.com/lucasfangames/

Oh and, and could a moderator move this thread to the Underground forum please?

Stunning graphics!

Interesting that two of the most well-known Zak fan-games (Zak2 - Between Time & Space and Zak 2 - Alien Rockstars) are developed by Germans. They must *really* like Zak over there ;)

heh, try Googling for non-Adventure-Gamers adventure fan-sites... About 80% of them are German.

I've noticed in Developing my game project (www.orderoftheredstar.com (not that you'll find much there)), most programmers are either German, Finnish or Swedish... Odd...

I'm part German and Swedish and I'm no programmer... I'm the exception that proves the rule! :D

Well it seems like they fixed the bugs, and the Demo is back up again, but still no English version yet.

Pooh.

Hi all,

I'm new here, well not new I've been reading the forums before, but this is the first time I register and post ;)

Has anybody tried the demos of this Zak 2? It seems to be out since January 10, 2004.

Cheers!

Well unlike most of you, i've been following this project for few years now, must be as old as Indy fan project at Amberfish Arts. (http://www.amberfisharts.com/)
Over the year it has gone through a lot of changes, including change of graphics style, most of the original team left, including the founder, i think, project even ceased to exisist at some point, but it was picked up again, by another group. I would like to see this game released one day, but my hopes are thin.

Graphically stunning. If the game is only half as good we'll still be in for a treat. :)

Well i've found demo itself much less stunning then screenshots from the site. Actor scaling needs some work.

Hi and welcome to the forums Sephiroth.

You can't download original Zak anywhere legally, since it was never released as freeware by LucasArts. So basically your question is against the forum's (unwritten *sigh*) rules.

Just a friendly warning.

Enjoy your stay

Unwritten rules?

From the FAQ:
What's not OK to post?
You are solely responsible for everything you submit to the Adventure Gamers forums. We retain the right to delete any messages or threads deemed inappropriate (e.g. flames, spam).

We have a zero tolerance policy on pirated software. Any messages soliciting or promoting warez will be immediately deleted and posting priveledges will be revoked.

We also kindly request that you do not post links to so-called 'abandonwarez'. Although we sympathize with the preservation of games that have gone out of print, we choose not to tread any murky legal ground.

Hmmm i'm quite sure this wasn't here yesterday :D :P

Well i got to admit it, i've never checked the FAQ. Most of the forums put their rules as sticky posts, which i find much more elegant solution

Thanks for the welcome!

I just assumed that the original zak was freeware since it was such an old game, I can't even find it on ebay!
