While it's not officially April 20th in most of North America, it is everywhere else and I've been wanting to post this shot I took while playing Grim Fandango.

This is from most players' favorite year and I just love, love, love this building - the architecture, the colors. I was blown away when I first saw this. I wish it really existed. :)

Enjoy!

That is a stunning piece of architecture.

Hmm... I just started designing a new house. Hmm...

No. :)

Either way, this is indeed a lovely building. And the music that plays when running around Rubacava is ace.

Strange... I'm sure I had.

Oh, that's right, I posted it momentarily after someone else and then deleted it.

Some other time .

I was starting to think my burnout had blown more fuses than I thought from the beginning.:D

I love that building. The only thing that I hate about it is that the elevator's cutscene is *WAY* too loud. I always remembered a second too late that I better turn down the speakers a little. My poor ears...

Also, I can't stop thinking that the small round windows on the left tower look an awful lot like shirt buttons...

Really amazing art direction in this game, and I'm not talking only about the graphics, but also about the voices and music.

Yeah, colpet, give it another try; it's worth getting used to the not-so-clever controls. :)

It is such a beautiful looking game and I can fully understand how it can get frustrating sometimes to control Manny. Do you know someone who can play through stuff you might have trouble with? :)

Someone needs to build a Grim Fandango amusement park right now!!! :D For each Year there'd be lots of crazy-looking buildings, attractions, entertainment, "cast members" roaming the park (Hug Glottis!)...

I kept trying to see if I could get Manny to walk up beside the railing on the right side of the building! Darn. :frown:

(Hug Glottis!)...

I don't think that is physically possible...

I liked Year 2 and everything, but I liked Year 3 much better. More logical puzzles, less walking from place to place, lots of story progess, and some nicer sights.

*bows at Grims greatness*

Did you know that according to Meta Critic, Grim Fandango is currently the 9th highest commercially rated PC game? The list is topped by Half Life 2 and 1 respectively.

Hee.

I lost count of how many times I went up there to read a poem... and no one ever applauded. :frown:

Have you finished the game? At some point, Manny will have to do something to earn their respect to proceed. And it's a well-known fact that the crowd applauds the poet, not the poem. ;)

I'm in the process of replaying GF now for the first time in about a year. God, what a game this is. I really forgot the genious of it. I never understood one part of the game before, but I figured it out as I got older and it's now my favorite puzzle solution. How many other games have you turning bees into communists?

Yeah, quite a waste of time after say 10 attempts.

The whole "workers shall control the means of production" and the "I thought bees only came in two colors, but you look all red to me" and all the "revolution" crap from the beatniks. That whole bit. I never understood why I had to give the book to Terry, but now I get it.
