Heads up, AGers.

You've heard that The Great Cow Race is hitting the wires next week, so to honour the occasion, we're making April 10-14 "Bone Week" at AG. That's right, Adventure Gamers will be the place to be for all-things-Bone, Telltale, and whatever we can weasel out of them about CSI and... you know... other projects.

Included during the week will be a major Bone game (and book) giveaway contest and our review of the new Bone episode of course. But that's not all, no no no! You also get this set of Ginsu knives to meet the fine folks from Telltale up close and personal, as back by popular demand will be a Developer's Chat. That's right, on Friday we'll be hosting a Telltale chat from 10am to 2pm Pacific (5pm GMT to 9pm GMT -- check a time zone converter (http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc) for your area.) Joining us at various stages of the chat will be Dave Grossman, Heather Logas, Greg Land, Dan Connors, and Kevin Bruner... and perhaps others, if our begging bribery arm twisting unassuming, patient requests are met favourably. So you bring the questions, we'll bring the guests.

Oh, and I forgot to add the obligatory "and more!" to the Bone Week list. No one's ever sure quite what that means, but we're working on more, so you never know.

Will I be yelled at if I pose questions which are more about their distribution methods and other such things that their forum usually yells at me for? ;)

Nah, we never yell at people in Developer Chats. (We take people out back and beat them senseless.)

Oh well in that case I'll wear a protective cup just in case. :D

I can yell at you just as easily here as I can over there!;)

But seriously, how can you complain about their distribution method? You can buy a boxed version of it on their online store. And if you're against episodic gameplay, then don't buy any until four or five episodes come out in two or so years. It'll be just like playing a "full-length" game for fifty dollars and you'll have waited just as long for them to come out.

Still, I'd like to see them answer your questions all the same.:) Because you know, maybe you'll figure out what the magic words are that will help them see the "error of their ways". Hehehe...

But I swear to God, if you make them cry... avatar_58

Oh....I see I'm going to become a villan during that week. See I have a few gripes with them and would like nothing better than to have them answered without the fans around to yell at me.

Will you guys promise to stay out of that thread? ;) I'm only asking for a few questions that will deal with distribution, episodic content in general, copy protection and riding on the fact that they are 'ex-lucas' employees.

T'will be a fun friday to be sure. :9

As long as you are being civil, sure, those seem like interesting questions to me.

A Good one, at least. :D

Someone should ask them what it was like working with Al Lowe and Roberta Williams and what making Beneath a Steel Sky and Broken Sword was like and will we ever see a sequal to Toonstruck and Flight of the Amazon Queen?

And what about StarCraft2?

but seriously for a moment, i'm quite interested in their game engine... and i intend to ask why they decided to build an in-house engine , what it's capabilities, and how they overcome its shortcomings?

And I believe you can all think of some interesting questions... (such as avatar_58's questions which can be great if they are asked properly)

They will be, don't worry. ;) I don't intend on attacking them, however I just want to hear their official responses without the legions of fans from their forum flaming me for no reason. I tried it a few months back there and it was like poking a hornets nest with a 10cm stick.

The developer's chat will be well moderated, I promise. ;)

Any question is fair game, as long as it's asked civilly.

Exactly, I'm not making this shite up.....the people there basically go nuts if you even mention anything against telltale or their games. Its like an advanced case of fanboyism, which makes little sense considering I asked the questions BEFORE the game was even released! How can one be a fan of something that hasn't even come out yet?

I know you guys here are more civil than that, so I'm hoping that the threads I make will be filled with quality answers, rather than flames.

Hey, what happened (or didn't happen) on Telltale forums can be argued over there, not here.

Anyway, the point of the Developer Chat is to chat with the developers, not bicker with each other. We can do that any time (and usually do.) :P

Wonder how many times "wheres Sam and Max?" will be asked :P

Considering that in an interview three days ago they said it was still in the design stage, I'm beginning to wonder if it will make the 2006 release after all.

Well they seem to have a steady approximately 6 month producting period apparently, so I guess if they get the design worked out it could be possible we'll see it by the end of the year.

I hope they render the Sam and Max games in a water colour looking way, to match the comics

You have an odd definition of "flaming".

These are the 2 threads you've posted in [1 (http://www.telltalegames.com/forum/viewthread?thread=192), 2 (http://www.telltalegames.com/forum/viewthread?thread=296)]. The most aggressive tone throughout both those discussions is yours.

And back on topic, what sort of chat will it be - some live java applet thing? Or a messageboard thread? Fully Moderated by AG staff?

Sorry, I've not been to any chats here before so I'm unsure of how you like to run them.

You can see the other developer's chats here (http://forums.adventuregamers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21) to get an idea of the format. It's not a realtime chat, but AG will set up a special forum just before the chat starts, and the developers will be answering the questions (almost) as soon as they're asked. :)

These things can be a lot of fun, as long as people ask good questions. (No pressure! :D)

Are we expected (or will q's be moderated such) to keep our questions exclusively on Great Cow Race, or are we allowed to ask things regarding their other games / plans?

Jackal

You won't be restricted to GCR questions by AG. Of course, it's up to Telltale what they feel comfortable answering, so if they express a desire to avoid some topics in favour of others, we'll help coordinate that at the time.

But as Emily said, any question is fair game. You may not get the answer you're hoping for, but it can't hurt to ask. :)

Greg Land is the CSI desginer. I think he'll be pretty disappointed if people limit their questions to The Great Cow Race. ;)

I changed my mind and am buying this, because I read the comic on the weekend, and it is brilliant. I just pray you Telltale, make us a puzzle where we will be stuck.
