(I hope you won't mind me 'advertising' this here. Feel free to delete it otherwise.)

From my site (http://www.black-house.net/):

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the 'Find the Watilla!' contest (http://www.black-house.net/Contests/Watilla/)!

I hope a lot of you will join in because, considering the prizes, it's worth it! But what are the prizes, and how many are there?
Funcom will provide me with three Dreamfall surprise packages, including but not limited to:
-Signed copy of Dreamfall
-Dreamfall T-shirt
-Dreamfall poster
-Dreamfall soundtrack
-and who knows what other cool stuff Funcom will put it in it!

Find out more on how to join and play on the 'Find the Watilla!' contest page (http://www.black-house.net/Contests/Watilla/).

And heres whats needed to be done.

What do I have to do?
Find the Watilla is all about... well, finding the Watilla. You will be able to visit six different locations from Dreamfall and in each one a Watilla will pop up at any given moment. Click on the Watilla to make a picture of it and send the corresponding code, which will automatically be in the subject of your e-mail, to me. Once I've received all the six codes from you, you will be added to the list from which I will randomly pick three winners at the end of the contest.

There is an orientation video you can view before you enter the contest, but it might take some time to download since it's 5.15 MB large. It's not nessecary to watch it, but it'll add to the experience. Still, if you don't want to watch it, click on the "Skip orientation video" link at the bottom of this page and you will be linked to a text version of the orientation video.

I keep getting the same video no matter which image I click on. Always the Zoe in bed one .

That's weird. I've made a html menu in stead of a flash menu. Try this link:

This is fun, thanks. :) But it only works for me in IE (I always get Zoë in bed with Firefox... odd).

I share the same problem as Lacey and DaSilva.

I tried it with Firefox and Opera, I'll try IE next.

EDIT: Works in IE.

I'm glad you guys like it :).

Btw, some people found the problem for me. It should be fixed now.

Thanks, RaMa. That was fun. I haven't won anything in my life and I think that this contest would be the perfect one for me to win for the first time.

That's odd. I just finished it in Firefox. No problems for me.

Rama, you're awesome!

RaMa
02-13-2006, 08:40 AM
Odd indeed. Maybe you're still loading the original pages from your Temporary Internet Folder.

Anyway, I'm glad it works in IE :P.

Rama, you're awesome!
Thanks! :D

Agreed. I just hope I do not get ambushed by a Watilla when I return home tonight.

Hmm. Now I have the problem that I can get all the movies to load (this was in IE, but, hey) but some of them aren't loading the new page when I click :frown:. I'l try those ones in Firefox.

Fun, though :).

Grr... first one's tricky.

EDIT: Got it. :pan:

Grr... first one's tricky.
First one's alright. I found the fifth one a bit tricky.

small tip: Set your screen resolution at 1024X768 or higher. Under a lower resolution, you won't see the whole screen. I have set the screen resolution at my work PC at 800X600 (I do a lor of reading) and was scrolling up and down the pics until it dawned on me to increase the resolution. Doh!

Gonchi
02-13-2006, 09:45 AM
Yeah, the fifth was fairly tricky, but I spotted it on my first go since it stays on the screen for a bit. I had to abandon the first one twice and took me around 15 min to finally see. :shifty:

All done, that was easy :D

except for that one that went all simba on me :shifty:

Legolas813

They were all pretty easy, except the first one which I have yet to get.

EDIT: Found it. :)

Those were all pretty easy. Got them the first time they came up (judging by the fact they seemed to come up around 30 seconds into it generally).

I love how you can see Zoe breathing, ever so slightly.

jjacob

Yeah he did great job with Flash! The blinking eyes, the snow, the flickering lights etc. makes the whole a lot less static :P Got them all, keeping my fingers crossed :)

The movement was a good incorporation because it distracted me from the watilla; every now and then some movement would catch my eye but OH WAIT it's just the guy's head moving, and there goes the watilla... I don't know if that was intended but it worked.

RLacey

I don't think so. From what I read it was suggested that the only thing needed was the code, which is automatically put in the subject line.

Yeah, but it's impolite to send blank mail! Wouldn't you hate it if you found a letter in your mailbox, only to find an empty sheet of paper inside when you opened it?

Anyway, I'm all done. All emails sent (with Pegasus Mail, instead of Outlook, of course), with more or less witty comments (the last few ones are more witty. Or at least amusing.).

But witty comments are always good ;).

So, I got an email from RaMa regarding the contest. Apparently, I successfully found all the Watillas and was added to the list of the drawee.

:)

There must be thousands of entries. I have had worse odd, I think.

Can't wait for the release of the game.

Ninja's don't take off their shirts for just anyone!!!

They do occasionally run around in special Ninja-Dirndls, though...

The Mail-Order Assassin(TM) won't come to your house, unless someone orders one for you.

Should I order a Mail-Order Assassin(TM) to you? I might be able to convince him to wear his Dirndl for you. I can't guarantee that you'll survive the encounter though...the smell from the glue of the postal stamps (do you know how many postal stamps you need to send a full grown Ninja by mail? And do you know how difficult it is to fit them all on to the envelope?!) sometimes makes him a bit high, but since a Mail-Order Assassin(TM)'s purpose is to assassinate, he usually doesn't have to think much about his actions upon emerging from the packet - so be careful!
