Try DosBox or VDMSound. Or scummvm if you want to play Lucas Arts games.

Yeah, DOSBox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net) is probably the answer. If you find it awkward to use, download the D-Fend front end from the same site.
:edit: Hellooooo. The DOSBox site is down atm. Mind you, the hosting is from Sourceforge, so searching their site should still allow you to download it.

Hi, Rex, I moved your thread to Hints subforum. And while we are here, you may want to look into this thread (http://forums.adventuregamers.com/showthread.php?t=13), though I guess Gilly has given you the most basic answer already. :)

I regularly see messages from people complaining about how DOSBox is so difficult to use. I simply don't understand it. It seems perfectly straightforward to me.
So could you please explain what the problem with DOSBox is? What are you doing? What do you want the application to do that it isn't doing?

After using DOSBox, I really don't see the need for SCUMMVM and VDMsound. DosBox is probably difficult to people who never worked with real DOS. I find it a very comfortable emulator, and I never use frontends like D-Fend.

You're quite right Aurebesh.
Anyone who ever used the real DOS, feels right at home in DosBox.
For those who started of with Win 9x, it's probably just too complex.
But I believe that anyone who's willing to take atleast 5-10 minutes of his/hers time to read the Help/FAQ, could probably set it good enough to play most of the games.
