Hi everyone,
I am trying to determine the format for my next adventure game, Awaken. I have already decided upon a first person perspective, because it fits the story the best.
However, I want to ask what you, the gamers, prefer between panoramic scenes and still frames (such as in Shady Brook). Please vote here. If you visit multiple gaming forums and see this post there, as well, please only vote once!
Thanks! :D

It depends entierely on the game you want to do.
Still frames are great for visually dense games like the Legend games, and Panoramic are the best for Myst-likes, in my opinion.

If it's node-based then it doesn't matter, I like neither.

I like whatever seems to work best for that particular game.

I think that panoramic scenes add more to the game as it allows the player to look in any direction s/he wants to, but that's assuming that you have the technology to allow the same level of special effects that you would have in still frames. If it means you need to sacrifice a lot in terms of special effects and animations, then I guess I'd prefer still frame. It isn't a big deal to me, though, as I'd play either.
