I'm trying to bid on this copy of LOOM (http://cgi.ebay.com/LOOM-R-A-R-E-new-unopened-with-Pattern-Book_W0QQitemZ8226202506QQcategoryZ4315QQssPageNam eZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) on ebay. I'm not necessarily coveting the unopened status of the game but it does have the manuel and stuff with it. It has a reserve price (which is >$25.00 so far). I'm not sure how high I should go without getting ripped off.

Many people have talked about this game so it makes me want to play it.

If it's in Box (opened or unopened) with Cassette (in perfect shape) and manual, I'd pay $50+ for it. Depends if you're a collector or not or just want to play the game.

If you collect, it's a serious piece of game to have. It's one of the best pieces of adventure gaming ever made.

I'm no collector. I'd say that it's worth $25 tops. But as the game seems to be in quality condition there is probably some collector that'll give at least twice that... As said before. Depends on if you just want to play the game or if you're a collector.

First off, that is an obvious repackage. It does not come with a box or the original LucasArts packaging/inserts. It's just the CD and the manual. The "Book of Patterns" is a small square reprint and not the full sized parchment paper version.

This, of course, does not diminish the game experience but if you're a collector, this is not the copy for you. A pristine boxed copy of Loom is worth around $80 with the cassette tape and untouched "Book of Patterns".
