Heh, good one! Am I the only one who thinks it's slightly suspect that ATI gets all the good numbers in the benchmarks, but also happens to have a multi-million dollar deal with Valve? Nvidia's response (http://www.gamersdepot.com/hardware/video_cards/ati_vs_nvidia/dx9_desktop/HL2_benchmarks/003.htm) kind of raises some questions. (Of course, their 'new driver' might just as well be a big fat excuse.)

NVIDIA say that they wanted Valve to use their beta drivers - a driver version that may or may not even reach the consumers.

Yes, it seems strange that ATI is getting all this good publicity from Valve (Considering that Half-Life 2 will be bundled with certain ATI cards) but still, NVIDIA isn't looking any better.

Apparently the ATI/Valve contract is there due to these results.

Apparently the ATI/Valve contract is there due to these results. It's interesting how, months ago, it was rumoured that Half-Life 2 would be optimized for Nvidia hardware, offering graphical effects not available to other video cards.
