Has anyone finished Schizm without resorting to a walkthrough? The puzzles in the game are wicked.

I did, sort of. I had some weird document supplied by the developer that described his "vision" for some of the puzzles, but it was rather less than helpful, and at that time there were no walkthroughs on the 'net.

They are wicked. I put it aside because I kept getting lost and it was kicking my butt.

You know what? It would be healthier to just place it in a basement and forget you ever had this game. Bad actors, bad story, bad riddles, bad graphics . Save your eyes, ears and mind and just...throw it away :P .

I played without a walkthrough up to a point somewhere in the 3rd CD where a stupid mistake stuck me. I didn't have the courage to keep on playing then, and now my fourth CD is broken, so I'm screwed.
Still, that's the most brain-killing game I've ever played, and it was fun.

I was never a fan of these games.

I have every respect for Maciek and his company (Sad to see them collapse), but the games where never my cup of tea.

They just felt like a poor excuse for a bunch of random puzzles to me. No attempt to integrate them into the storyline or surroundings.

bad graphics
You didn't play the DVD version did you?

To this day I still think that DVD Schizm has some of the most beautiful, lush graphics I've ever seen in a game. Love it.

Game was tough as spit though. I've had easier times installing LOTUS NOTES* servers... and that was with a walkthough.

*Lotus Notes was created by Satan himself by updating and patching old punch card programs from the 50s. Every year he releases newer and newer versions each designed to spread more terror and fear accross the land than the previous version thus making the Earthen plane more hospitable to his existance.

I agree, the graphh the pics are great. At least the outdoor scenes are. I just wish the players kept some kind of journals which kept track of the clues the apparations provide. I don't have subtitles on my DVD-edition so I sometimes don't hear what they say.
