Day of the Tentacle? I haven't played it yet.
I have it (3.5" floppies) but I haven't set up my old PC on which to play it. I have ScummVM but I just haven't figured out how to use it.
I can't wait to play this though.

ScummVM is incredibly easy to use, so no more excuses, go and play it! ;)

The full talkie version is better as the voices are fantastic.
DOTT is my favourite adventure game.

Just played through this again (using DOSBox instead of ScummVM) and it was just as funny as I remember it from the first time.
All your buddies have to do indeed. As if anything in an adventure game was ever that simple. :frusty: :D
The use of the three protagonists being in 3 different time periods to solve puzzles was a work of genius. Not seen anything like it since. Pure joy that I'd recommend to anyone.
My favourite scene is near the end.
When the view sweeps across to show the army of Purple Tentacles he's brought with him through time.

"You wouldn't happen to have a genuine diamond lying around the mansion, would you, Dr. Fred?"
I'm still trying to get my best friend to finish DOTT so he can play Sam & Max next...
And for some reason, the nasal voice of Wanda (the Couch Potato Shopping Channel phone operator) cracks me up every time I hear it! :D

Quite possibly the best adventure game design ever. :D

Everyone says Scumm is easy (and I even have the 'easy' version) but I don't understand what things you have to push. It's not intuitive to me. This is me being an airhead. I downloaded it a long time ago but I don't know where there's a manuel that tells you what to do.
You are free to laugh at me. :D

"Ahhaa! A secret passage!"
The first voiced dialogue that I heard when I watched my friend play the 3,5" version back in the day this game was fresh and just released. :)

There was some speech in the disc version? Cool.

Yeah, there were few selected lines in Day of the Tentacle 3,5".
I think some other LA games 3,5" releases also had a few digitized lines.
Also for example Sierra's Ecoquest 2: The Secret of the Rainforest had a few digitized lines, which are pure gold like "This place is like a sewer". Oh man I hate the fact that Sierra never made a cd version of Ecoquest 2 with full digitized speech...

To you I recommend SCUMMVM Quick & Easy (http://quick.mixnmojo.com/software.php#scummvm). If you meant that when you said you have the "Easy" version, why not detail your specific problem? I'm sure someone can help you.

It's been awhile since I've tried it. The next time I do, I'll come back with more specifics. :) The previous post was partly a rant and whining on my part. :P And yes I have the Quick and Easy.

I can't believe there are people on here who haven't played DOTT. WTF? You call yourselves adventure gamers? :shifty:

Errr... no.
There's no shame in admitting your ignorance. It took me a while to realise how to use the SCUMMVM too, not mentioning that I only realised how to play it on full-screen very very recently... ... :frusty:

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thanks for the backup.
But Ninth can laugh at me, I put out the invite.:P
