If any one is interested in old games dating back to the early days, I have over 200 games most of which I would let go for the price of shipping. Many are on diskettes (3.5 and 5.25") and run in dos mode. About half are on cd and run in dos or windows. Ask for my list.

200 games dating back to the late 70's? Why don't you sell them on EBay? If they are genuine there are many gamers around who pay good money for "rare" games ;)

(Personal tangent, sorry to hijack your thread!)

Come to think of it, I have a *ton* of old Mac games (mostly adventures) on diskette. A lot of Sierra stuff-- Freddy Pharkas comes to mind.

Is there a market for old Mac software or is the nostalgia-factor on eBay only applicable for PC stuff?

I would replay a lot of it except for the fact I can't really justify the purchase of an old, run-down Macintosh :)

I suppose that would depend on whether they will run in classic mode under OSX. The chance of that seems a little iffy.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. Most are System 7 and below as far as support. I should look it up :)

On the same token, if anyone on these boards are looking for old Mac adventure games, I'm definately a resource.

tbdenz: I'm pretty sure a lot of us are interested. I am definitely. You should make a list...

So are these games boxed, and do you still have the manuals?

He he, that reminds of the time I got HHGG, I got the Apple II Version bt mistake, I tried to use the Apple II emulator that comes with Roberta Williams Anthology but it won't save games...
So I used a Z5 interpreter version instead....

I might be interested. I (as well as others, I believe) would prefer to know more details, though. Or should we try to guess what games are on your list?

On the other hand, believe it or not, there are Mac emulators for OSX at emulation.net (http://emulation.net/macintosh/).

I think it's fairly clear that "200 old games for sale" is missing the word "pirated" somewhere in there, and unless I see some sincere evidence to the contrary soon we're going to treat tbdenz as we would anyone trying to sell pirated software on our site.

Evidence would be interpreted here as:

1. A reason why you're not selling them on eBay.
2. A partial list of the games.
3. A discussion of the extent to which original documentation would be included.

Buyer beware...

Anyway, I'm fairly new at this since this was the first message I have posted. I've been collecting adventure games for 20 years and now I'm ready to pass them on but I don't know what to do with them. All are mint, in original boxes with all manuals and supporting materials. I was just hoping there are some collectors out there who would be interested. Obviously for the 5 1/4" or 3 1/2" diskette games you would need an older computer running with DOS. Maybe there is no one in the world who would want these games, in which case I have to throw them away. I can sent the list on Excel to anyone that wants to e-mail me.

I can't in good conscience let you just give old adventure games away without advising you otherwise. If you really have 200 mint condition boxed adventure games, you could fetch well over $3000 for them on eBay. You shouldn't just give them away.

Not that I'll complain if you want to send me the original Space Quest 1.

Thanks for the information. I'll keep considering my options. You know, I don't have Space Quest I. Some of those earliest games I shared with friends or for one reason or another didn't keep.

Could you send that excel list to; kristiansen_john@hotmail.com
