View Full Version : Sierra on-line got killed by Vivendi Universal
where are those legends:
King Quest.
Space Quest.
Quest for Glory.
I'm in love with those games, even I still have the 15 years old Sierra on-line magazines on my shelf (when the William's family used to write their articles, with some pictures of upcoming games, that was really nice), my favorite is Quest for Glory and I still have the saved file from "Quest for Glory 5" in hope to upload-it in the QG6 (if it ever released....).
I hope this company get some serious buyers and return those outstanding series.
In love with Sierra games forever,
Sam
Welcome to the forum, Sam. Nice to meet another Sierra junkie. *D
Have you ever visited Ken Williams' site (http://www.sierragamers.com)? Great place to relive some Sierra nostalgia, and he actually reads and answers the posts there. I just about fainted the first time he responded to one of my posts. :D

Last I heard they're rereleasing the oldies, so there's hope yet for nostalgia fans.

Why would there ever be a Quest for Glory VI? Wasn't Dragon Fire intended to be the conclusion?

Yeah, as a longtime QFG fan, I can honestly say that 5 is enough. Not that I wouldn't buy a 6th one if they made it, of course. But QFG5 pretty much wrapped up the whole series. You gotta know when to stop.
We still need a Space Quest 7, though. And a Gabriel Knight 4.

The Quest titles are what I cut my teeth on when I got my first computer( I was 10,now 29). Seeing we have gaming design engines (Doom3,Source(HL2),ect..) that can fully render 3D environments, why arent we seeing more developers stepping up to the bat to develop adventure titles that are fully immervsive?!?! The best example I can point to is HL2. Yes, its a shooter, but it has story elements and plot pacing down to a near science.

Well, it better hurry up. The supposed release date for all of them is October 11th, and if there's no verification yet, I'm not expecting much.

Not yet. And even that's a fan project. It's not an official sequel, even though it's the closest thing we're likely to ever get to an official sequel.

Just like all of you guys, I really loved the great Sierra adventure games.
Therefor, me and my crew have created a new one, in the same good old adventures style like the Sierra and the Lucas Arts adventures with humour, puzzles and a great story-line.
We are now in the beta-testing fase, and we will release the game, Tears Of Betrayal (http://www.tears-of-betrayal.com), in octobre 2005.
Go check it out: http://www.tears-of-betrayal.com
Greetz,
Dirk.
