Niburu - Stuck at the mine elevator *spoiler*

I'm stuck at the elevator in the mine. I have read the walkthrough after spending almost an hour trying to figure out how to lower the crate myself. And I still don't get it. I suppose I should try and dig up some kind of wheel for the lowering mechanism, but I can't find the pile of earth. I don't know if there's a bug or if I'm just stupid, could you please tell me where to look for it. Is it somewhere near the crate in the same node? Argh, I'm going crazy here...

The pile of earth is just at the right of the screen - you may need another object to dig it up though

I am having the exact same problem. Did you figure it out Daisy? I have the bar (cramp?) but there is no area on the ground that allows me to dig. I have moved my cursor all over the screen and the orange indicator never lights up. I have looked at the walkthrough dozens of times and cannot see what I am doing wrong. Please help!! :(
