Although in most adventures you play human hero in some of them you play totally another creature. Sometimes you even can't tell its sex. It jast won't be fare not to make a poll on those one too. So just name however you want :)

Claymen
Feeble( also he is male, but really not the first you think of when you think about male protagonists)
Bobbin tripwood( A men? with void instead of head? R u sure?)

UFO from UFO's. Well, you can consider him to be male, but, as far as I rember, it's never told to gamers, and, ah, he has no...well...you know. :)
But Feeble... He is a man, all right!
Also Max from Sam and Max. He is just a rabbity thing, and also has no...
And in Rex Nebular Rex periodicly changes from man to woman and from woman to man. How should he be called?
But yes, I agree, the ones from first-person, especcially the one mentioned in Zork Grand Inquisitor. :D

Just because they are another sort of creature doesn't leave them sexless. Max and Feeble don't count. Duh!

And "UFO" from "UFOs" is not named "UFO," it's named Gnap.

Larry is pretty "sexless"... :P
Hmm, in "In Memoriam" YOU are the hero, so the sex of the hero depends on who plays it?

Oh man, someone's gotta make a poll for this!!
Pretty please!!!! :9~
I just love those polls... Don't ask me why though.

Oh, and there are the tentacles in DOTT, you can't play them, but they're pretty important. And Flux in Toonstruck. And Lewton in Discworld Noir, since he's ... oups! Well, you know what I mean.

The "you know what I mean" part doesn't make him sexless, though.

Don't read if you haven't played DN:

Just to be clear, as syntheticgerbil said, being "not human" is not equivalent to being sexless. There's no reason a werewolf wouldn't have a gender.

Fair enough...
I was thinking along the line of a non-human protagonist, don't know exactly why.
And as for the tentacles or Flux, it wouldn't surprise me if some in-game joke was made about their sex, so maybe they're don't belong here either.
:frown:

I don't remember anything about tantacleas' sex. So I'll count them in.

Does Max have a sex? I don't remember it being mentioned.

Does any adventuregame character really have sex at all? Or maybe that's not the question.

It sure seems that guys with a hood have a hard time prooving their virility:rolleyes:. Except for those on red hoods and cute bows around their neck that is..
I think, however, that the fact that we can't see their face or their..."thingy", doesn't mean that they are sexless.. After all, dialogue helps in clearing that out as well as graphics.. For instance I am pretty sure that in Loom the Elders refer to Bobbin (which is a rather male name anyway) as "the son of Cydna" (or whatever her name was-it's been a while since I last played the game)..

Also the Manhunter hero can't be possitively identified because of the hood but I don't recall ever wondering about his sex so I guess the game made it quite clear, in a way I don't remember right now, that he is a Mister.

Finally, the tentacles' voices in the talkie version sounded rather man-like, let alone the bearded Purple Tentacle in the future and the cell guard who wanted to date Laverne..

My point is that the protagonists whose sex cannot be identified are VERY few, probably only the Zork adventurers... and a couple of others that don't come to mind right now..

Well I sure hope Flux for one is not a "she".. Maybe Shodan (that one I don't care):D

Hey, you're talking to me...? ;)

And my name is Gnap... at least I think it is.

I have no... that's true, I can't even talk properly, but I can and do KISS.
