The holy grail?? Oh come on, what kind of conspiracy is that?! Dan Brown's got nothing on Artematica, as the Italian developer has cooked up an all-new Church conspiracy thriller to tax your brain and maybe challenge your faith along the way. The game is Belief & Betrayal, a title that was beginning to seem like the victim of treacherous machinations itself, with several aborted release targets in recent months. Whether that's really the case, no one is saying (bought off? threatened? who knows?), but at long last the game has arrived on store shelves, its secrets exposed to all.

In Belief & Betrayal, tabloid journalist Jonathan Danter begins what he thinks is a straightforward murder investigation, only to find that the case links back through the centuries to a much deeper, darker mystery that has been protected by the Church ever since. Controlling not only Danter but two other playable characters, Katrin McKendal and a computer wiz named Damien, players travel across Europe, from London to Venice and into Rome and the Vatican in pursuit of a truth that will shake the foundation of the Church and could just prove a threat to all mankind.
