completed contest: Undercover: Operation Wintersun giveaway

Apparently someone forgot to send Sproing Interactive the memo that says adventures should take place in worn-out, overused settings. When left to their own devices, the Austrian developer boldly created a game that drops players into — get this — Nazi Germany during World War II. Imagine that! While shooters and strategy games routinely pit the Axis vs. Allies, it's a rare adventure that dares embrace war as its backdrop. But there are no guns a' blazing or bombs a' dropping in Undercover: Operation Wintersun. At least, not if you can help prevent it.

Undercover puts players in the shoes of British physicist John Russell, whose expertise as a scientist puts him front and center in the race to discover a potentially devastating German secret. Or maybe "race" is the wrong word, as Russell will need to think, speak, and act like a spy, slowly and sneakily outsmarting enemies and overcoming dilemmas as he moves deeper into enemy territory.

With the game set to conquer the wor... err... I mean, due for international release in the coming weeks, Adventure Gamers is pleased to offer some sweet Undercover loot, courtesy of Lighthouse Interactive. The grand prize winner will receive not only a free retail copy of Operation Wintersun, but a stylish cap as well. Who says you can't be a gaming geek and look good doing it? But wait, there's more! Four lucky contestants will get their own copy of the game, and another two will scoop a cap, making a whopping seven winners in all.

Two different prizes, seven chances to win... sounds good, right? Well, not so fast. The high stakes world of espionage isn't for the weak-minded and faint-of-heart. Only the clever, the resourceful, the most determined will survive. We can't fully prepare you, but we can test your wits with our devious quiz below. Answer all three correct, and you just might have what it takes. Miss just one, and you're going home hatless and alone. So don't guess! The answers you need can be found either at the Undercover website or our own recent preview. More than that I cannot reveal without the need to kill you afterwards.

The contest will run for one full week, ending Saturday, September 8th, and winners will be notified by email. Good luck, agent!
